Professional
Prior to founding Houston Wealth Management, Craig worked over 10 years as an investment and retirement advisor with Morgan Stanley Smith Barney, ING and an independent investment firm in Texas. Prior to his career in financial services, Craig's background and experience in engineering provides a base for understanding complex concepts. It was, however, his interest in investing and business that led Craig to leave engineering for graduate business study. Craig combines his diverse experience with a sincere respect and interest for others through his work at Houston Wealth Management for the firm's clients and partners.
Craig is proud to be a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER(TM) (CFP®) practitioner in good standing since 2007. He also completed the Chartered Retirement Planning Counselor(SM) (CRPC®) in 2006 and holds the FINRA Series 66 securities license. Craig earned his Master of Business Administration degree from Rice University- Jesse H. Jones Graduate School of Business (Houston, TX) and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering from Lehigh University (Bethlehem, PA). Craig believes that ongoing education is a lifetime commitment. He actively participates in the national and Houston area Financial Planning Association meetings, conferences and events.
Community
Craig is strongly committed to the success of communities that he belongs. His community activities include service and leadership in his neighborhood and at the local elementary school. Craig is also a longtime volunteer and leader in the Lehigh Alumni Association in Houston and in the Northeast. He regularly volunteers as a youth sports coach for his children's sports teams in the West Houston Christian Sports League. He and his wife, Ruth, reside with their two children in the West Memorial/Energy Corridor section of Houston.
Craig enjoys music and music performance of all kinds, and as a past drum major, he eagerly awaits the opportunity to lead his neighborhood's annual July Fourth Parade. Other current interests and areas for improvement include working on his tennis backhand and eliminating his annoying golfer's slice.
